Eligibility: Any students currently in grades 6-8 are eligible to audition for speaking roles. Younger kids may participate in the ensemble.
Experience Includes: Acting, Singing, Dancing, Costuming, Set Construction, Props, and other aspects of theatre production with the goal of gaining skills in all these areas. High school student mentors will be working closely with the students. Alice in Wonderland Junior is the musical that the students will prepare and perform at the end of the workshop. Location of rehearsal and performance TBD.
Cost: $50.00 workshop fee (includes t-shirt and script).
Auditions: Auditions are OPTIONAL! Everyone enrolled in the workshop will take part in the process and production; however there will be auditions for speaking roles and solo singing parts. Auditions will be Monday, August 20th 4:00-6:00 pm and Tuesday, August 21st 4:00-6:00 pm in the Princeton Community High School Auditorium. You only need to attend one of the sessions. Auditions will include: warm-up theatre games, cold reads, and a short acapella vocal solo (30-60 seconds from a song of your choice – does not have to be from the show).
Performances: Thursday, October 25th at 6:30, Friday, October 26th at 6:30 pm, Saturday, October 27th at 6:30 pm and Sunday, October 28th at 2:00 pm.
Rehearsals: Attendance is very important to putting on a successful show. However, I realize kids are involved in many activities, so I try to be flexible. Be sure to mark the availability calendar so I know at auditions when you are available to rehearse. Not all characters will be called at every rehearsal. I will do my best to schedule kids when they are available.
