GCYT Annual Variety Show
Show Date
Saturday, May 8th at 7:00 pm
Thank you for your interest in the Gibson County Youth Theatre Variety Show! We are gearing up for this year’s show and are excited about the interest show so far!
Primarily, our Variety Show is a fundraiser. It helps to cover the many production costs involved with putting on our shows. We produce three shows a year.
2020-21 Season
Secondly, the show is a great way to showcase our Gibson County Youth Theatre participants. Students from all over Gibson County and the surrounding area participate in our programs. This is a showcase, not a competition.
Since this is a fundraiser, the more kids we can get involved – the better! There are so many talented kids in our community and we would like to showcase as many as possible. In addition, we would like to put the show together without holding auditions. As interest grows, this might not always be possible, but for now, that is the goal.
In putting together the show, this is what we are looking for:

Primarily, our Variety Show is a fundraiser. It helps to cover the many production costs involved with putting on our shows. We produce three shows a year.
2020-21 Season
- Willy Wonka Kids – Youth Drama Camp in June
- Rock of Ages – High School Summer Musical in June
Secondly, the show is a great way to showcase our Gibson County Youth Theatre participants. Students from all over Gibson County and the surrounding area participate in our programs. This is a showcase, not a competition.
Since this is a fundraiser, the more kids we can get involved – the better! There are so many talented kids in our community and we would like to showcase as many as possible. In addition, we would like to put the show together without holding auditions. As interest grows, this might not always be possible, but for now, that is the goal.
In putting together the show, this is what we are looking for:
- A variety of acts – singing, dancing, skits, instrumental, etc.
- Groups and ensembles – solos and duets are great, but the more kids we can get on stage, the better. Groups are welcome to feature soloists within their acts.
- Solos and duets – depending on the number of acts, solos and duets will be kept at a minimum. We will likely feature older students as soloists, but again, that depends on our applications.
- Our kids – Gibson County Youth Theatre participants and their groups will get priority. GCTY participants include kids who have been in our productions or attended our workshops such as Triple Threat.
- Serious, reliable acts – Well-rehearsed acts that incorporate extra elements such as props and costumes.
How to get involved:
- Fill out and turn in the Variety Show Application by April 15th.
- You can turn in as many applications as you like.
- THIS IS AN APPLICATION. DO NOT ASSUME YOUR ACT IS AUTOMATICALLY IN THE SHOW. Acts will be evaluated with all applications to put together a balanced show. You will be notified if your act has been selected to be in the show.
