I LOVE this idea!!  Another idea is to set up a "calendar fundraiser" on FB where people can pick a specific date.  If they pick the 15th of the month then they donate $15 etc.  Get creative!  

Show Dates - June 20-23, 2024

Last year we had a very difficult time getting enough students to put on our Summer Musical.  There were many reasons - athletic & academic camps, other theatre productions, family vacations, etc.  This put a great deal of stress on the production team.  Instead of putting ourselves in that situation again this year, we need assurance that we have enough students and adult volunteers to move forward.  

If at least 35 students do not meet all the Criteria to Participate by April 5th, GCYT will not produce a 2024 Summer Musical.  This decision will be made and announced by noon on April 6th.  If we don’t move ahead with the show, the money that you paid will be refunded back to you.  If we have enough audition submissions to proceed, we will announce the cast list by noon Monday, April 8th.

Criteria to Participate

• READ all the provided information carefully.  I am happy to answer questions, but it gets frustrating being asked questions that are answered in the information provided.
• Discuss the time commitment with your parents/guardians, coaches and employers PRIOR to signing up.  In order to put on a quality show, good attendance is required.  If you don’t have time for the show, don’t commit.
• You must complete ALL of the items in the Criteria to Participate to officially be signed up for the production.  You will receive an email confirmation once we have received EVERYTHING on the Criteria to Participate list.
• Some items you will complete online on the website.  Some items you will email to [email protected].

 
Deadline – April 5th by 11:59 pm

1. Student Form – Complete online
2. Parent Form – Complete online
3. Sponsorship – Pay online or mail a check to GCYT.  Information below.
4. Volunteer Form – Complete online through Sign Up Genius
5. Bio – Complete online
6. Senior Picture for Playbill Headshot - Current Seniors Only.  Submit via email.  An image with a light background works best.
7. Introduction Video – Submit via email.  Everyone has to do this one.  This does not need to be long.  Tell us your name, current grade, school and why you want to be in Hairspray.  We look forward to seeing your personality shine through!
8. Audition Sides Video – Submit via email.  Only those interested in a role with speaking lines need to submit this.  The Off Book date for this show is May 15th.  If you cannot commit to this deadline, don’t audition.  We need the most serious and dedicated actors in the speaking roles.  Select up to three of the auditions sides provided to read on your video submission.
9. Vocal Video – Submit via email.  Only those interested in a role with a vocal solo need to submit this.  Record 30-60 seconds of yourself singing a song from the Hairspray Musical Soundtrack.  You can sing acapella or with an accompaniment (karaoke) track.  However - NO BACKGROUND VOCALS!

MTI PLAYER APP

MTI Player is where our actual productions tracks come from.  There is an app that you can use to run a rehearsal version of our show. It will be slightly different from the performance tracks, but very close.

REHEARSCORE APP

RehearScore is an App that you can use to rehearse specific vocal parts.  For example, if you are Harold, then you can select only the Harold part to hear your particular part.  Sections can also practice this way.  For example, if you are an alto in the ensemble, then you can select only to hear the alto parts to rehearse.
